Resources for Life Events: Being Single at Cornell

Single Parents

Childcare and Adoption - Cornell opened an on-campus child care center in 2008, which serves the families of faculty, staff, and students. In addition, Cornell offers a childcare grant subsidy program and an adoption assistance program. The Office of Workforce Diversity, Equity and Life Quality also provides resource and referral for assistance in locating local and national care for short and long term needs. A series of Life Quality Workshops are available on parenting/eldercare, life transitions, work-life integration, and effective relationships topics. Sessions are free of charge and open to all in the Cornell community.

Caregivers of Adults/Elderly

Cornell recognizes that the demands of elder caregiving have become an increasing concern for its employees. Cornell has put into place a local and national eldercare resource and referral program.
