Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS) of Central New York
If you are having trouble making ends meet, find yourself in debt and worried, you may really begin to control your financial future with some help from the skilled and caring people at CCCS.
CCCS is a non-profit financial counseling organization based in Syracuse with a branch office in Binghamton. They are certified with a number of state and national credit counseling and consumer educational groups. Cornell signed an agreement with CCCS to provide their confidential financial counseling services to employees and their families. Please visit their website for much more information on their qualifications and service offerings.
You can arrange a free counseling session with CCCS over the phone or in person to discuss your financial concerns. They will be coming to Benefit Services each month starting in January 2009 for in-person meetings, but a majority of their counseling occurs over the phone with good results. Give them a call at (800) 479-6026.
Even if you feel you are about to be forced into bankruptcy, it may not be too late for CCCS to help you arrange re-payment plans with creditors, but these more complex services may come with a modest fee. And, CCCS offers financial education programming to help you stay in a secure position in your money management.
