Cornell Employment: Flexibility in the Workplace

The Flexibility in the Workplace policy was established to assist with the needs of Cornell staff and their departments. It is meant to help exempt and nonexempt staff balance the responsibilities placed upon them by the growing demands of work and personal life. The policy provides three separate, flexible work-arrangement options: flextime, job sharing, and flexplace. It also includes specific tools, guidelines, and procedures that staff and administrators can use when considering, initiating, and maintaining a flexible work arrangement. The determination of whether a staff member can participate in a flexible work arrangement is made on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with the needs, requirements, and constraints of both the department and the staff member. Contact your supervisor or local HR representative for more information. See University Policy 6.6.13: Flexibility in the Workplace for details.
