Purpose
This plan provides financial protection for the staff member and
family in the event of accidental death or injury.
Definition
The Personal Accident Insurance Plan provides coverage for enrolled
Cornell University staff in the event of death, dismemberment,
loss of sight, speech, or hearing, or paralysis from most accidents
(subject to policy exclusions).
Enrollment
Enrollment in this program is optional and available to staff
at their own expense through payroll deductions at any time. The
university makes no contribution to the cost of this insurance.
This plan is available in addition to the regular Group Universal
Life Insurance plan.
To request an enrollment form, staff should contact CIGNA Group Insurance, 1-800-231-1193.
