Cornell Dependent Care Resource and Referral Services
Cornell staff, faculty, and students can seek consultative assistance
from the Universitys Dependent Care Consultant in the Office of
Workforce Diversity and Inclusion, on a variety of issues,
including child and eldercare options. The consultant will assist in exploring
child care options, including drop-in care options for arents on work-related
travel with their children and assisting families with locating informal
child care options such as nannies and babysitters. The consultant may
also assist conference planners with providing child care options for
attendees. For those with adult caregiving concerns, the consultant can
assist with locating adult/elder care resources in the community as well
as help caregivers who are providing care from a distance. A Caregiver
Support & Education Network is available as well as an e-list
for adult care concerns.

Office for the Aging
The Tompkins County Office for the Aging (COFA) seeks to address the needs
of people over sixty years of age and their caregivers. In close cooperation
with other community organizations, COFA's mission is to assist the senior
population of Tompkins County in remaining independent in their homes
with a decent quality of life and human dignity for as long as possible
and appropriate. When that is no longer feasible, COFA has information
on identifying other senior housing options. There is no charge for most
services.

Family Helpers List
The Cornell Family Helper list helps address the need for additional babysitters
and family helpers within the Cornell community. The service establishes
a link between Cornell faculty, staff, and students to access various
life quality services. This service can only be used by current Cornell
community. A profile of all potential helpers is available on this site
for services such as baby/pet/house sitting, tutoring, and more. Helpers
listed are not endorsed by Cornell University. www.ohr.cornell.edu/workLife/balancing/babysitter/index.html
